Kamstrup is the worlds’ leading provider of solutions within intelligent energy and water metering. A position, which requires the company constantly think new and differently and are able to understand their existing and future users needs, problems and trends.
CHALLENGE
Kamstrup was facing a challenge related to product and business development within the utility market. Due to new regulations and market changes within the utility business within the nordic markets, it was required to get an overview of market, customer/user needs & trends taking place within the area to get a solid foundation for taking the right decisions for the further development of the future product and technical solution.
PROCESS
Together with the project team, Zimplifi was leading the direction and speed of the project in iterative loops and workshops. The project team had a strong focus on the following deliverables throughout the process:
- Defining outcome & business hypothesis
- Mapping Target groups of both users, customers and stakeholders
- Define and develop value propositions for the prioritized target groups and markets, which was used for further test and input of the concepts
- Mapping of technology and environmental trends and focus areas
- Framing customer and user visits and questionaire for research
- Gaining maket input from both customer input, visits and reports
- Analyzing and mapping most important insights of relevance for the future concept
- Analyze and develop the technical solution & concept, so it was aligned with the needs of customers and markets
- Creating a business plan supporting the technical solution and product
RESULT
- A strong business & technical foundation & concept, which made it possible to take the right decisions of relevance for the utility business.
